Introduction
The Driving Energy 2022 Award is a photography competition promoted by Terna, the Italian company that manages the national electricity grid. The main objective of the award is to enhance photography as a means of artistic expression and as a tool to illustrate the relationship between energy, innovation, and sustainability.
The goal: design an engaging website for a photography competition, showcasing energy, innovation, and sustainability, with a smooth user experience, clear contest flow, high accessibility, and a modern UI aligned with Terna's branding.
User Experience
The user experience (UX) is optimized with an easy-to-follow flow, featuring a step-by-step "Come Funziona" guide for a smooth journey and clear sign-up process, while engaging and inclusive content, such as "Mostra il tuo talento," invites professionals, semi-professionals, and amateurs to partecipate.
The design is responsive, mobile-friendly, and accessible, with a grid structure that adapts to various screen sizes and legible fonts and contrasting colors that meet WCAG accessibility standards.

By using welcoming language, the content creates an open environment where everyone feels encouraged to showcase their talent, fostering a sense of community and creativity. This inclusive approach not only broadens the competition’s reach but also celebrates the varied perspectives and abilities of all participants.
